it didn't hurt very much and came straight up as a bruise, but has now nerarly faded, no bleeding or pain and lo still moving, should i just keep an eye on things?

if you are worried i would speak to a midwife just in case.... to put your mind at rest

i fell off a fence when 36 weeks preg, straight onto tummy.... dd is 10 this year

best wishes

do you have a maternity day unit you could pop into? get check out, i would TBH.

j20baby · 17/09/2007 14:24

i'm not overly worried, more worried that i've hurt lo, and she is going to be bruised or hurt by it when she comes out. thanks i may give them a ring

I would say it only bruised so quickly because your blood flow is quicker at the mo and also blood closer to the skin on your little stretched belly

j20baby · 17/09/2007 14:31

Hmm, it did bruise immediately which was a bit alarming, just rung them and they said as long as i don't get any other problems, i should be fine. should have just rung them in the first place

Hi, I had a midwife pop round to check on me this morning after being hit hard on my bump by a football yesterday afternoon. She told me the baby is extremely well cushioned - and if it's moving then I'm sure all it well - but I'd certainly give your midwife/hospital a call to see what they advise if you're worried.

Blandmum · 17/09/2007 15:11

I'm sure you will be fine. The fluid in the sac helps to protect the growing baby from knocks and bumps very well.

If you want to see how well, put and egg in a jam jar and fill the jar with water. Put the lid on and give the jar a good shake. The egg foats and bobs around but doesn't smash.

Pour out the water, but the lid back on and give it a shake. they egg will crack very easily.

the baby is well protected by the amniotic fluid! We do this demo for the kids in school, it workes very well.

reason i said check out is friend hurt her stomach when pregnant(on and iron i think?, it fell out of her hand and onto tummy, so good few seconds), her ds was bron with big 'burn' looking mark on his body which hospital put down to that!?

j20baby · 17/09/2007 20:20

yes thats what i was worried about PC, that she comes out with a bruise or mark, but as i say, i called them and they said not to worry, unless i get any problems, i don't suppose they could do anything anyway could they?

prob not, a 'bruise' wouldnt show on scan and anyway it was on you not on baby, as long as bump is kicking and giving you jip,im sure youd be fine

j20baby · 17/09/2007 21:02

oh yes, she's still doing that

PinkChick · 17/09/2007 21:05

My bump (both times) looked like it had had the shite kicked out of it all of the time because I am such an ungainly clumsy buffoon
