Inconclusive scan

Hi,
So I found out I was pregnant just over a week ago clear blue saying I am 2-3 weeks, I have PCOS so have very irregular periods (hardly have one without being on the pill) my last cycle of the pill finished beginning of March when I had my last period. I have been dated by this period which would make me 9 weeks. I went for an early scan yesterday and they measured the pregnancy at 5 weeks and couldn’t find a heartbeat but everything looked okay if I was 5 weeks. I am going back in 10 days time but am very worried that I may have miscarried although I have had no bleeding? I’ve had some cramps but what felt like trapped wind (and I’m pretty sure was) I’m just very worried atm, anyone else had anything similar?

5 weeks sounds absolutely spot on, if you took a clear blue that said 2-3 weeks that’s from conception so technically you were around 4-5 weeks when taking the clear blue. I have no idea why they would date you 9 weeks! If you had got a 3+ on a clear blue then that would be a reason to send you for a dating scan but a 2-3 weeks is very clear you aren’t 9. At 5 weeks on Scan it’s very normal not to see a heartbeat, everything actually sounds spot on and hopefully in ten days time you’ll see a heart beat

If you’ve got long cycles then I wouldn’t take the date from your last period as a helpful guide. My cycles average 35 days and I ovulated day maybe 19-21 so the dates from last period were never right, they would always shift them back by a week. Do you have any idea when you ovulated? That would be a better guide.

The best thing you can do is wait unfortunately (I know what I would do though - keep peeing on the digital sticks and pray for a 3 weeks + reading).

I took the clear blue last Sunday which said 2-3 so everything seems to add up that I am 5 weeks, thank you! Fingers crossed

It all depends when you ovulated hun i went for a dateing scan at 4 weeks no hb and there was one at 6 weeks. The reason for the scan was i had no idea how far i was the period before had been 2 days and light its impossible to know really hun im afraid only time will tell. Hey, no I’m not sure when I ovulated annoyingly... but I think it seems to work out about right being 5 weeks, I’ve already taken so many tests lol, thank you!

If you saw baby on the screen at your scan and you're not bleeding then I would say, so far so good!
Not having a heartbeat at 5 weeks is totally normal, as you don't usually pick the heartbeat up until around 7 weeks (ish).
Your symptoms also sound normal to me and I'm sure others will say the same.

It all sounds good, 5 weeks is too early to see a heartbeat and cramping is common in the early weeks.
