Lower back ache at 16 weeks

Hi everyone!
I'm currently suffering from some lower back/tailbone ache at 16 weeks pregnant.
It's not "unbearable" and it's not really concerning me to be honest but I wanted to ask if this is pretty standard?

It feels sore and achy and can be a bit tender to touch.... like a muscle pain from doing too many deadlifts at the gym (that's the best way I can describe it). I'm always rubbing my knuckles in or rolling my lower back side to side on the rounded corner of our larder cupboard 😂🙈

I'm always on my feet, probably too much but I didn't think at 16 weeks I'd be held back?
I do a 3/4 mile walk every day and I'm quite active during the day. I'm not overweight or anything. I also could have swore I felt some movements yesterday in my abdomen (waves, twitches, butterflies etc)

Any ideas on how to relieve the back pain?

I had the same around then, I think it's fairly standard unfortunately! Can you use a hot compress on your lower back? Try using that in 5 min intervals and that should help.

@otterbaby thanks! Yea I could use a hot water bottle maybe. I'd love to take a bath but we have amazing weather at the minute I couldn't think of anything worse than a hot bath in hot weather 😅
Glad to hear it's pretty normal! I've had a few twinges in my abdomen (and a few sharp twinges on the inside walls of my "nunny") I'm trying not to be crude 😂🙈 but I'm assuming it's my muscles stretching!

Hi @TeacherFarmerWife - I'm 16+4 and lower back pain has been really bothering me for the last week too! I looked up some pilates exercises online and am starting to do those once a day. I do find it worse if I'm on my feet a lot. I've had a really lazy day today and it feels a bit better so am going to try and get a better balance between exercise and rest.

I am also feeling tiny movements now - it's so exciting!
