Pregnancy with a high BMI

Hi ladies, I’m not currently pregnant. I’ve recently had a MMC and chemical pregnancy. My BMI is very high (was 40, now it’s around 37-38). I can’t help but blame my weight on my MMC and CP. does anyone have a high BMI and have had a healthy pregnancy? I’m just really struggling to lose weight at the moment and worried about getting pregnant again.

Thank you all for your replies and honestly it is very much appreciated. Those of you on aspirin, when did you start taking it? And was it prescribed by your gp? My midwife told me to ring my gp and ask for aspirin- which I did and my gp refused, I’m worrying now that might of had something to do with my MMC?

It might be worth recontacting your midwife and asking if they will email the surgery, that's what they had to do with my iron tablets.

I had a high BMI (35+) with both my pregnancies. DC1 arrived a day after their due date whilst DC2 arrived a week early.
Took aspirin regularly from week 10 of pregnancy with DC2 until week 36 in order to maintain blood flow to placenta, as DC1 was quite small when born and midwife thought placenta may have stopped functioning hence low birth weight.
Both pregnancies were consultant lead but they were never really concerned about my weight or BMI.
As pp have stated, mmc unfortunately are common so I wouldn't focus on blaming yourself (your weight) on the mmc and CP.

Good luck Flowers

@Servers I’m not currently pregnant. I’ve had a MMC and was asking for future reference. But thank you hopefully when I get a BFP I will do that.
