Hello everyone! I have been looking through many posts on mumsnet but can’t seem to find a post specifically on this topic.
Are you allowed to do all abs exercises when you work out in your first trimester? When should you start making modifications?

I see some posts from people who didn’t exercise at all during the first 12 weeks. I feel ok though and would like to continue my exercise routine of exercise 4-5 times per week. Exercises are mostly pilates or body weight exercises with light weight.
Thank you in advance!

I think you should avoid crunches and twists but can otherwise carry on as normal.

Pilates wise you can continue until 12 weeks, after that it is advised not to do the abdominal exercises (am a Pilates instructor). I don't know otherwise, but I am planning to look into it as I am now 12 weeks and just feeling well enough to get back in the gym some days!
