Hi,
Came off my pill 2 months ago due to problems with it (bleeding inbetween bleeds). Used condoms for a while instead.
Last two times we have had sex we haven't used anything, it's like we both don't care if we end up with number 2.
It feels great!

DH was certain he wanted no more babies after DS2. My gut feeling was 'never say never' (actually that's a good new name for you ).

He came home a few weeks ago and said he'd like to try for a third, maybe in another year! We aren't ttc but we are using the withdrawal 'method' so obviously aren't too bothered if we slip up. It is quite a strange unspoken acceptance!

TigerFeet · 17/09/2007 11:46

The "lets do nothing and wait and see what happens" method of "contraception" failed miserably for dh & I... approx 9.5 months after we started it dd was born! We weren't at all sorry but if I'm honest I would say that I wish it had taken a bit longer to conceive, I was only just getting my head around the idea and suddenly - BANG - there I was pg.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/09/2007 11:49

I have this name as I had a very traumatic birth expierence and we were both convinced that ds would be our last child.
I had an em c section as ds was undiagnosed breech and I had v high blood pressure along with other problems. Dh was affected badly and said he thought 'I was going to die'
We have spoken about other children last few months, but not seriously, just chats like 'I wonder if we would have a boy or girl etc'
Meemar - you know what I mean!

Tigerfeet, if only there was a secret way of knowing how long it would take to get pg!
It took 4 months with ds, but a friend of mine it took her 3 years.

We decided to start trying for baby no 2 in June this year as it would mean at least two years between children even if by some miracle I got pg straight away (DS took 18 months). However I was not on pill and in May we had unprotected sex twice without discussing the consequences. I am now 20 weeks pregnant with twins... I am really pleased it happened as we didn't have any stress of actually trying and being disappointed etc, and I think it happened because I was completely relaxed as we *weren't" trying. Twins though .

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/09/2007 12:04

Egg - wow twins! Congrats.

That's the problem isn't it? If I had known it would happen so quickly I would have waited 6 months or so, but we wanted to get started with our family and thought that it could well take months or even years... we were very, very lucky and I do appreciate that.

We are very careful now because we don't want to conceive dc2 until we are ready - I'm just hoping that when we do go ahead it will be just as easy. There are no guarantees though are there?

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/09/2007 12:07

You are right about there being no guarantees. I think since we both turned 30 and ds is getting older too we have been thinking more about things.
I have had to go to hospital too with problems after my c section, so I think this has made us think, let's just see what happens.

Congrats Egg twins - wow!

ledodgy · 17/09/2007 12:21

Yeah we didn't really consult each other this time when we started trying. We
had sex once, I was very drunk the conversation went like this...
Me: 'I don't wanna use a condom it's the safe time anyway and ti doesn't feel as good

DP: 'But you don't want to get up the duff again do you?'

ME slurring: 'So k tis the wrong time.

DP: Ok then (he was sober but still easily persuaded )

This resulted in a BFP 2 weeks later and dc 3 a little boy is due on january 6th.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/09/2007 12:32

ledodgy pmsl!

Hi,
I'm 17 wks into my third pregnancy, somewhat of a surprise for us. My DS is 14 and DD is 13 - that is years old. DH has wanted another for years but I, well, didn't. And finally he said "Well, what are you worried about?" And he was right, I really didn't have anything to worry about and we "let" it have a chance. Chemical forms of birth control have never been nice to me, so we have used condoms, rhythm and withdrawl methods for literally years. He is on AD and is 47 and truly thought his ability to concieve was diminished. Surprise. I am 45 and classified as Advanced Maternal Age. Everything is going well and expect amnio results this week. On a side note, the hormonal soup running through this house-my poor dear dear husband! We are able to laugh more than fuss though.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 19/09/2007 15:20

It was obviously the right time for you both and it proves it isn't always 'too late'

I think I can stop thinking about babies for this month at least as my af arrived today. I have had a few problems since my c section and wonder how long it may take for number 2 anyway.
