Travel sickness bands for morning sickness

I’m now 7weeks and have had the worst morning sickness for a week now... heaving and actually sick and a constant feeling of nausea. I bought some travel sickness bands a couple of days ago and have worn them constantly since and they have helped SO MUCH! I’ve still heaved a couple of times but it’s taken away that dizzy nausea sensation. Anyway, my question is... do I need to take them off at night (so they don’t lose their ‘potency’ when I pop them on again in the morning??!) or can I just wear them 24/7? (Sorry it this is a ridiculous question!!) Grin

I took mine off at night because it was the only time I wasn't throwing up (I suffered from HG). I'm not sure about potency, I just took them off at night because I didn't need them when I was asleep.

I only found mine worked for me when I left them on overnight by accident! So now of course I dont dare take them off!! Glad they have helped you too.

My stayed on 24/7 until about 15 weeks. I felt sick for the first couple of days I didn't have them on then felt fine.. I would wash them in the sink and blow dry them if they needed it.

I've found they worked for both my pregnancies, I've started just wearing mine of an evening as my sickness is starting to wear off thankfully but I'm sure they do work x

sarahc336 · 02/05/2020 19:34

Oh and at its worst I kept mine on 24/7 no need to take them off until you feel better really xx

This is all so reassuring - thank you! I kind of want to keep them on through the night because I wake up 5.30ish (for the third pee of the night - annoying) and feel so spewy!! The first few nights I was making a racket eating dry cereal and munching on ginger biscuits waking OH up 🤣 I genuinely can’t believe the difference wearing these bands. It’s mad how normal I felt yesterday and today compared to how rough I was. These little bands are lifesavers!

Seeing as they're billy bollox anyway I'm not sure what harm it can do.

JKD1982 · 02/05/2020 20:06

I wore them 24/7 for first 15 weeks! Had 2 pairs to swap over when I got them wet in the shower... I ended up buying a device called emeterm around week 9 as it is the same concept but gives a small pulse to the wrist and helped even more.

Troubledmummy3 · 02/05/2020 20:06

I wore them 24/7! I'm 18 weeks now and still have to wear them occasionally but sickness has eased!

EBM20 · 02/05/2020 20:16

I wear mine 24/7 before I started wearing them I woke up at 4am every night dry heaving and with a sip of water I would throw it back up! Since wearing them I still wake up at 4am but without the sick feeling, I'm 11+4 weeks and between 9-11 ish weeks I had the worst sickness!

Nfblues · 02/05/2020 20:19

Mine stayed on from 6 weeks to 20 weeks, 24/7 every single day. Took them off to shower and to quickly wash them but that’s literally it. They were amazing!

Sb131216 · 03/05/2020 00:09

I keep them on apart from showers and did the same with my last pregnancy, mainly as turning over in bed made me sick or wretch and does now too. Not sure about potency though sorry

Toobuktim · 03/05/2020 00:11

Try frozen ice lollies.....they were invaluable during the early weeks of my last two pregnancies, really took the edge off during the day

Sb131216 · 03/05/2020 23:40

Frozen ice lollies is a good suggestion

I made some pear ones today for if/when I can manage it, I find pear is quite an easy flavour on the stomach when sickness is bad and I always make them for dd if she's poorly

Mumsykim3 · 08/05/2020 19:51

Found your awesome advice on the lollies, thank you :) in my third pregnancy and cannot remember nausea being this bad with my other two!

Toobuktim · 10/05/2020 22:01

Good stuff @Mumsykim3 - they certainly saved my sanity!!
