So I woke up this morning I went to the toilet and wiped and there was darkish red blood.. it’s still occurring I’ve had mild period cramps all day, annoying pain but completely bearable, the bleed isn’t just spots it feels like and looks like a light period but I’m 7 weeks pregnant. I took a test and it’s a faint positive, there’s no clots in the blood no shoulder pain but I still worry, I called 111 they gave my number to an out of hours GP and she called me back and basically told me to wait it out till Monday there’s nothing I can do I’ll probably fine but if I miscarry there’s no cure for that anyway. Not super reassuring I’m sure she had lots to deal with but if anyone could shed insight with maybe personally experiences or just anything I’d really appreciate it!xx

Hi Danielle,
Not sure if this is reassuring or not but I am going through the same thing at the moment at 7 weeks. Having cramping and browny red blood like a light period too. I went to the EPU at my local hospital and had an ultrasound scan today.
They told me everything looked normal except the fetal heartbeat, which was irregular. They said to come back in a week for another scan to check the heartbeat, but that it could go either way ( I might miscarry in the mean time or it might be fine - the doctor said 'shed seen lots of cases of both')
The wait is agonising, sitting at home now with period cramps and a bit of bleeding but nothing major, hoping for a good outcome ( and wishing I could have a glass of wine!)
Sorry if this isn't helpful, I know sometimes It can just be good to know you're not alone.
Wishing you all the best, got my fingers crossed for both of us xx

Hey I just wanted to say I had a huge 5 day bleed in Jan then found out I was 5/6 weeks pregnant a week later! Had an early scan, no hb but could see the sac. Another bleed at 7 weeks, fell over at 8 weeks and landed flat on my stomach and am 18 weeks 2 days with no known issues!! Blood isn't always bad news but if it gets heavier or your pain gets worse I'd maybe call them back for advice. I hope you are ok. Easier said than done but try to relax because worrying isn't going to alter the outcome and there's a chance it'll all be absolutely fine xx

Sending you big hugs. With my second pregnancy I had this up until 12 weeks and it wasnt good news, however, with my last pregnancy I bled on and off randomly from when I found out I was pregnant up until 5 months.
I had blood tests every week to see if my hcg was going up until it was so high there was no point tested then I was told to go early pregnancy unit whenever I bled for a reassurance scan, which I did. I paid for extra scans to give me piece of mind when I felt I was being a burden on the epu. Turns out I had a low lying placenta! Planned c section later I gave birth to Dc2.

I wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy. Stay positive and try not to stress!
