Scared about my next scan

I’m nearly 15 weeks and have my next scan next week for a 16 week gender scan.
My last scan was about 2 weeks ago and baby was good. I’m absolutely terrified I’m going to go to the this next scan and I’d have had a mmc. Another woman on another forum went for a 16 week scan and was told her baby died at 11 weeks and 6 days ☹️.

I know once you get to 12 weeks the rate really decreases for miscarriage but it scares me it’s still a possibility. Couple that with the cramps I’ve been getting the last few days ( doctor has put it down to stretching/uti and I now have antibiotics) it still doesn’t stop me worrying. Is it rare for that to happen after 12 weeks? I’m still getting symptoms just anxious

It's rare for this to happen at this stage of pregnancy but it's natural to worry because you want everything to be ok. As a mum you never stop worrying. Even when they're born, you worry about them, things like cot death and illness, there's always something to worry about, however unlikely the chances. So to put into perspective if you have already had a scan at 13 weeks nd everything was ok, the chances are that it is still ok.

I worried at the 12 week scan, then worried at the 20 week scan, now at 28 weeks I'm constantly worried about movements. It never ends.

But rest assured your chances of a normal successful pregnancy are massively high now x

Thankyou so much for your replies
I know rationally my odds are high for a normal pregnancy now. Anxiety is very heightened after ivf and the current pandemic too so feel like I’m bothering my midwife by aski bf for advice. X

Normal to be worried hun, chances of something like that happening at this stage are low...But the worry never stops, even after baby arrives your worried about their eating, milestones and everything else lol. You have to accept worry as your new normal of motherhood and try to put it to the back of your mind x

I feel the same way. I had a scan last week at 14 weeks and I have one again at 16 weeks in just under two weeks time. My anxiety is through the roof. But more so because I have low Papp-A so I'm paranoid about baby's growth. The odds are very much in our favour, but I don't think the anxiety ever goes. It will be back again at 20 weeks and so on😂 this is motherhood now haha. All the best lovely, keep us updated xxx

I agree with PP that the worry and anxiety during pregnancy doesn't seem to go away....I'm 25 weeks now and had scans around 6, 8, 14, 17, 20 and 23 weeks and I was a nervous wreck before all of them!
