If baby isn't emptying a breast do I still offer from the other breast at the next feed.

My breasts are filling up too quickly and already had engorgement last week. Baby is 2 weeks tomorrow x

If baby is only 2 weeks then engorgement was normal, when your milk comes in it takes time to adjust to what your baby actually needs. I used to alternate breasts regardless mainly because if you don't you end up with one very sore and swollen side, which is asking for trouble!

I was told to offer both at each feed, i.e. left right, then next feed would be right and then left, etc. This is great though, well done! Get your hands on a pump and stock up Smile

@coolnomore that is what I was told too.. Start with the boob that you finished on in the last feed :)

I would do the feed on one side then have a 10 min break and offer the other side.
The end of the feed feels like a butterfly tongue and thats when they get the fatty hind milk out.
