Car Seats

We have just had a car seat delivered, one of the spin one that is fixed to an isofix base. It is quite big so I want to put it in the car straight away to get it out the house, but do people keep these in cars overnight etc. or are they a theft risk?

Ive never heard of a car seat being stolen. There’s not a lot of resale value or a market for a history unknown stolen one.

Yes everyone I know leaves them in the car, myself included. I think they're covered on my car insurance but as pp said it will be such a rare thing to happen as most people won't touch a used car seat with a barge pole so no demand.

thanks, I was hoping that was the case Smile

my older child's 360 is filthy and i wouldn't imagine anyone would want their child to sit in it! tbh i've never thought of it but i think they are so big, bulky and dirty they are not of interest.

I used to live in a very 'nappy-valley' area of London where thieves would target car boots to steal expensive prams but I never heard of anyone stealing a car seat, probably because most people are aware of the safety concerns and there is therefore hardly any second-hand market.
