Spotting at 7/8 weeks

Hi,

I've had a small amount of light pink spotting today and yesterday, I'm around 7 or 8 weeks pregnant. I also have had bad cramping since yesterday which has felt quite sharp like being stabbed with a needle on both sides of my lower tummy and it's making me quite uncomfortable.
I have had one previous MC but started with heavy bleeding, and one healthy pregnancy where I did have a lot of spotting/bleeding and he was fine.
So basically in my head I'm thinking logically it's probably ok as i had spotting with my son but I do have bad anxiety (going through CBT at the moment), and I can't stop worrying about it like that it could end in MC. I tried ringing the local midwife team today but had to leave a voicemail.
I was wondering whether I should call the EPU directly or not, I'm also worried about wasting their time when I'm sure they are very busy at the current time.
I have got a private scan booked in for next Friday but I don't know if I can wait that long as I am worrying so much. I don't know if the EPU would scan me though or not which probably would be the only thing that would put my mind at ease.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Or got any advice?
Should I call the EPU or wait to hear back from the midwifes?
Thank you x

Hi mines is same as yours and I called it an emergency. I rang my doctors who rang the EPU. But I managed to ring the EPU before my doctor and I've got a scan tomorrow. Ring the EPU. Any sort of bleeding or spotting is an emergency.

Don't worry. Please keep us updated...you might feel better talking to people who are going through the same thing.

If its any consilation, I had the same however it was put down to the egg implanting in the womb and went onto have a healthy pregnancy.

Thank you for the replies, my scan went well thank goodness and baby was fine! Saw the heartbeat too which was really reassuring. They couldn't see any reason for the blood but think it probably was caused by my cervix (as I have cervical erosion anyway) and they weren't too worried about the pain I'd been having, and couldn't see a reason for it- it's actually been a bit better today.

@Emerald4512 thank you, I did have implantation bleeding a couple days before I got my BFP which was about 3 weeks ago so knew it wasn't due to that at this stage for me, but thankfully it wasn't anything serious 😊
So relived! Xx
