Anyone had a cervical length scan?

Hi all,
I’ve just had a phone call from my consultant who is going to book me in for a cervical length scan next week as well as at 20 and 24weeks due to a previous LLETZ procedure (I’m 16 weeks tomorrow with our third). I’ve been expecting this so I’m not overly concerned although I’ll be terrified at the thought of having the stitch if I’m honest.

Just a bit of a selfish question really, but has anyone had one done and they’ve gotten to have an extra look at the baby? Obviously at the moment with everything going on I’m not expecting them to take the time to do that if it’s not routine but just curious if checking the baby quickly was part of the process?

Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm currently 24 weeks and have had this done 3 times now. Each time they have checked the baby first with a normal ultrasound on the tummy and then give you an internal ultrasound. It doesn't hurt though and it's over very quickly.

Like you I had 3 cervical length scans due to LLETZ.
They started with abdominal scan at each one so I could see the baby.
Of course this was before covid 19

Thank you very much for the replies, I really appreciate it. In that case I’ll go in hoping to see baby but not 100%expecting it just in case the current situation doesn’t allow for it.
It will be a lovely bonus!

I had my last one this morning and they still checked baby, even got an updated picture so fingers crossed it's the same for you too. Good luck Smile

I had mine done at 14 weeks and they also gave me a peek of baby and checked that everything was ok. Unfortunately my cervix was already too short so had to have the stitch done that as week so haven't had any further scans since.

I've had mine between weekly and fortnightly the whole way through covid 19, theyve shown me the baby and given me scan photos at every single one! X
