Hi, I'm 21 weeks and taking 150mg due to risk of Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). That any use?

Connie222 · 29/04/2020 21:24

I’m taking 150mg aspirin because I’m 40 and fat. 22 weeks at the mo, started taking it at 14 when I booked into hospital.

AlviesMam · 29/04/2020 22:50

I'm 28 and taking it due to my sister having pre clampsia and my mum having blood clots

PoodlesAreMySpiritAnimal · 29/04/2020 22:58

Hi, I’m 40 and am on the same level dose as you, which I will be on until 36 weeks. It’s my first pregnancy so I understand it’s to safeguard against any risk posed by age and also the Drs not knowing how my body responds to being pregnant.

yestonodressyet · 29/04/2020 23:18

Same dose but due to previous pre eclampsia, annoyingly DH couldn't get the right dosage in sainsburys do I'm biting 300mg tablets in half each day and they taste so bitter!

Emberfoot · 30/04/2020 00:16

Same dose, only aged 33, but a chonk.

Connie222 · 30/04/2020 03:53

@yestonodressyet I could only find 75mg soluble aspirin. Two of those in water - OMG it tastes like hell!

Connie222 · 30/04/2020 03:55

When are you all taking yours? There are some studies that show its best if taken just before bed (I was bored and googled).

Littlegoth · 30/04/2020 05:48

@Connie222 you don’t have to dissolve them, you can take as any other tablet.

Same dose due to lupus anticoagulant.

Littlegoth · 30/04/2020 05:50

Yes 9pm. They don’t know why but studies show it’s most effective taken at night, and this seems to be across the board whatever the medical reason for taking it.
