Convincing myself I’ve miscarried...

Hi all,

I’m doing my head in worrying that I’ve had a mmc even though I know there’s not much point worrying. I had an early scan 5 weeks ago which dated me at 6+1 and we saw a little blob with a heartbeat. I had some bad cramps which made me get the scan but these have gone away. I’ve had on and off sickness for 6-8ish weeks and very sore boobs... but all these symptoms have now disappeared and I just don’t feel pregnant. I have no sort of bump either and still fitting into my skinny jeans... it’s my 12 week scan next Tuesday (currently 11+2 based on first scan) and I’m thinking the worst :(

Symptoms do disappear around the 12 week mark. You wouldn’t have a bump at 11 weeks, if it’s your first you might not show until around 20 weeks I think...? At least your scan is not too far away 😊 I would say make the most of not feeling rubbish!

I’m so sorry you’re worried OP. It’s very normal for symptoms to come and go, so please don’t take that as a sign of the worst. And many people don’t have a bump at 12 weeks.

I hope your scan puts your mind at rest Flowers

What you're feeling is completely normal....I see threads like this on MN every day and even started one myself before my dating scan. Scan anxiety is real and it's awful!

I had an early scan where baby was dated 6+1 too (I thought I was 7+5 by LMP), I totally convinced myself I'd had a MMC after that but baby was absolutely fine, in fact her dates had caught up by a week and I'm now 25 weeks.

MMC is very rare and the odds are even less after seeing a heartbeat at an early scan. Easier said than done but you just need to try and relax and stay positive. Chances are your baby is absolutely fine just as mine was Good luck.

At the 12 week mark, all of my symptoms went away. I fit into my normal skinny jeans until about 23 weeks! Had no bump at all.

BuffaloCauliflower · 29/04/2020 16:43

Most of my symptoms trailed off around week 8. Symptoms fluctuate a lot and vary between women. Now 11 weeks have no kind of bump, it’s much too early for that. Try not to worry.

Pumpkin108 · 29/04/2020 17:27

@BuffaloCauliflower thanks - have you had your scan yet?

@Pumpkin108 I had an early scan at 10 weeks last week, all looking good and a strong heartbeat

BuffaloCauliflower · 29/04/2020 17:29

I do now seem to be exhausted again though, being check for anaemia. But be big symptoms I had at the start (mainly feeling very hungover and sore tender boobs) went ages ago

Pumpkin108 · 29/04/2020 17:30

@BuffaloCauliflower ahh that’s so good. What date are you due?

OP posts:
BuffaloCauliflower · 29/04/2020 17:32

Based on that scan November 13th, but I was measuring 5 days ahead of my LMP date (just growing big, ovulation date is sure!) so I think it might change again when I have my 12 week scab

Pumpkin108 · 29/04/2020 17:32

@BuffaloCauliflower hope you’re ok. That’s reassuring, my boobs were so sore at the beginning but they’re fine now just look very veiny!

Scan! Need a bloody edit button

Pumpkin108 · 29/04/2020 17:33

Ahh almost the same as me- I’m around 16th based on the 6 week scan

@sel2223 thanks .. I guess here on MN, it just seems more common because people post about it more. Fingers crossed

I'm 10+6 and my symptoms have defo reduced since 9 weeks, I thinknits quite normal to reduce around that time as the placenta starts to take over xx
