Currently 23 weeks. Having the worst time ever with hyperemesis, pain due to other conditions plus I have internal scar tissue and adhesions on bowels from other surgeries and I have endometriosis and adenomyosis.
I’ve been told 38 weeks but I think 37 is reasonable? I’ve had a c section at 36 w prev for same issues but that was a bit early and despite steroids baby was in nicu

I’m really struggling with the pain already. I feel like 37 w will be a reasonable time ? If one dr says no can I request a second opinion like when a woman wants a c section?

I think they like to leave you as long as possible as it reduces the risk of breathing issues for the baby so unless they think it needs to be 37 weeks they might want you to wait until 38

Yes my son at 36 weeks despite steroids had a lot of breathing issues and was in nicu
I’m just in so much pain it’s already a struggle 🙁

Is 37 considered term then only for vaginal deliveries due to the squeezing through birth canal or is 37 w term for any baby ?

I would listen to the drs

I had a 32 week baby and a 33 week baby

I had HG. It horrific. However I would of done anything to have a baby full term.

The HG is really really making me feel awful it’s the scar tissue though that’s the worst I had been admitted a couple of time’s due to it previously as it’s all round my bowl so was causing problems now it just feels like it’s ripping inside of that makes sense I’m short bodied too so I feel like my bump is high already but now it’s growing outwards and the pain is bad from stretching. I think I’m having a particularly bad day today it’s so so painful 😖

Yes I agree nicu is no fun I found it really scary and daunting

I had my youngest at 37 weeks via csection and he also has breathing issues. I think if you can hold on to 38 weeks I would.

Hi OP. Sorry you're having a rough time. I had a C section at 37+1 and DD needed to be resuscitated and stay in NICU.
I would stick to 38 weeks, I know that's easier to say than do though. I wish I'd been able to keep her in longer.

guiltandchocolate · 28/04/2020 13:18

I think with today being such a bad day I’m just thinking a week sooner is a week less of this pain but equally it’s only a week and better to go to 38 w I’m just feeling so down with the the pain
I wouldn’t want to go through nicu again it wasn’t nice at all
I may call the hospital and see if there’s anything else I can do for this pain

I've been told in my NICU you can only visit 2 hrs a day and have to express milk if you want to feed. I'm due in a few weeks. Can you speak to your dr about different pain management?
