Midwife says it is policy for anyone with thyroid issues has extra scans on 28th and 34th weeks of pregnancy? Is this something I should be worried about ? Also midwife cancelled 16 week appointment says she will see me at 22 weeks because there no issues. Doctor did Increase my levothyroxine to 175mcg but seems unconcerned. Just that it’s protocol to have those extra scans due to thyroid anyone else had same? This my first pregnancy

Thanks

I’ve also had my dose increased quite a lot, but I’ve not been told about any extra scans. I’ve had a couple of phone appointments with an endocrinologist and will have a couple more but that’s it.

Originally I was told I was high risk because of underactive thryoid ( which would have resulted in extra scans) but once I met the consultant around 17 weeks he said I wasn't a high risk and just gave me some forms to have extra blood tests (around 28 weeks and possibly 34 weeks I think) I also had a blood test at 8 weeks and 14 weeks to get it back under control again.

I didn't have any extra scans
