Any pregnant nurses here?

I just got my BFP, period due Thursday, but strong lines on Frer and CB, so I'm taking that as pregnant (haha), I don't think I'll believe it until my period doesn't turn up!

With covid, I need to tell my manager pretty soon, bottled it today.
I've only been in the department since Feb, I find the manager a bit funny, not really sure how to take her, sometimes nice, sometimes sarcastic. I'm dreading telling her.

It feels way too early to be telling people at work, once my manager knows, it'll then be obvious to a few other people, allocations person, and my mentor.

I'm so worried about things going wrong.

How are work handling pregnancy for you?is it OK? Are you having patient contact?
Any tips for my predicament please?

I’m 23 weeks pregnant and usually work in ICU. Fortunately, after a bit of back and forth with management at the start of the CV crisis, all of the pregnant ICU nurses were redeployed to non-patient facing roles. This was 5 weeks ago. Those 28 weeks+ have been signed off. I’m now doing an office role which I will be able to do from home so plan to keep working until 36 weeks.

I was working in an area where suspected and confirmed cases were unavoidable so on the advice of managers my GP signed me off for 2 weeks whilst my hospital made a plan to reduce risk of exposure. This was at the end of March.

It’s really difficult, and risk of exposure in a hospital can’t really be compared to risk of exposure in non-work life.

I had my risk assessment and have been moved out of the covid ward and in to a general medical ward, its the same PPE guidelines so still have the mask etc on.... not looking forward to feeling sick with the mask on!! Xx
