Hoping someone can shed some light.

I have had my 28 week midwife appointment this morning (am exactly 28 weeks today) and she measured my bump for the first time. She was having IT issues so couldn't plot this for me while I was there and said that she would call me if there were any issues. 15 minutes after I left I receive a phone call saying that the bump measure a little big and she had booked me in for a scan tomorrow. On the phone she did not tell me the measurement, I have since checked my notes online and it says 29cm.

I then googled (I know, I know) and general information seems to be that the measurement should be amount of weeks plus/minus 2cm. So now I am very confused as to why she has booked me a scan as surely I am in the correct range. Does anyone know why this might be?

It is a bit weird to be honest! I'm not sure. I agree with what you've said though; if bump was 29cm and you are 28 weeks then it shouldn't be an issue. My bump was 27cm at 25 weeks but I was already having a growth scan at 28 weeks so I didn't have any other scans booked in before. Even then, the midwife wasn't concerned.
The scan will be more accurate though in saying if baby is, in fact, big or not

Thank you for the reply. Now I have gotten over the initial shock (everything has been low risk to now) I am just seeing it as an extra chance to see the baby at the scan.
