24 week midwife app

I'm due to have my 24 week midwife appointment tomorrow and when I called to see what they are doing in regards to appointments and Covid 19, they didn't answer or return my voicemails.

This is my first baby so I'm not sure what to expect at each appointment, is this a big one? Should I just go along as normal? I'm rhesus negative so waiting on some blood results too

Hoping I can get through to them in the morning 😅

I've got a 25 week midwife appt on weds. Most trusts are cancelling them and just doing telephone appts instead but I called on Friday and they said my appt is still going ahead.
At my surgery, they have very few people attending for appointments and you wait outside until you are called in, then the midwife and other staff are all in PPE.

As far as i know, I will get my whooping cough vaccination on weds and will also get my urine and blood pressure checked. Not sure if they measure the baby too.

I’m not sure if it’s different all over the UK but I’m in Newcastle and my 25 week appt is on Thursday and is going ahead in person.

Similar to what sel2223 has said, I’ve been told to wait outside and ring the bell and then I will be let in, I’m also getting my whooping cough vaccine after so not sure if that’s why it’s still in person?

I would try again in the morning but if you don’t hear anything if it were me I would be tempted to assume it is still happening!

I'm a midwife. I can't speak for all trusts, but I would be 99% certain that your appt will go ahead. At this stage face to face appts are needed to check BP and urine. The earlier appts are being done on the telephone as they can be done this way.

Mine went ahead as they do blood tests, BP, urine, measure bump and listen to heartbeat. I'm not sure whether this is the same in other hospital trusts though.

Oh thank you for all your replies!

So most likely mine will too, I hope so as I have lots of questions and worries at this point which I didn't have before, so would be great to talk to someone properly 😊

My 25 week appt went ahead in person. Blood pressure and urine check and got to listen to heartbeat.
I wasn't measured though she said she does that at 28 week appt.
made me feel better also cause like you I had a few questions.
