Pregnancy weight gain

Started pregnancy weighing 10 stone, which is my heaviest weight. (Usually 9.7)

I’m now coming up to 27 weeks and weight 11 stone 7.

Is there a way to slow down weight gain. I ideally only wanted to get to 12 stone to the end!

I think because i know I’m having a c section again it’ll take longer to get walking after birth. Looking at slings now !

As long as you were a healthy weight before pregnancy then I don't think you should worry much about how much you're gaining. It's within the realms of normal.
You'll have very little control over how much you gain at this point as baby will be gaining rapidly.
Just eat healthily, drink plenty of water and try to go for a walk each day for a healthy pregnancy not to control your weight.

And stop weighing yourself any more than once a week!

I started at 9 stone and put on 3 stone in total (the first stone was by week 10). Health professionals agreed it was healthy and by 6 months postpartum I was back to 9 stone and that was with zero effort and lots of eating.

If I'd have thought like you I could've restricted my weight gain by a third of what it should've been naturally and that obviously wouldn't have been the best idea.

You need to relax and let nature take its course in terms of the weight gain. It's the best thing for your baby & completely healthy and natural unless you have some kind of medical issue that we are unaware of.

Our bodies are all different, if you put on more than me or less it doesn't matter. Eat plenty and step away from the scales! If in doubt seek professional advice. Good luck with the pregnancy. Smile

I am 39 weeks, and am usually very sporty but have sat on my arse all of the last trimester and put on nothing. 1kg first trimester, 10kg in the second, nothing in the third.

I was 8 stone before pregnancy and now at 26 weeks I’m Now over 11stone... literally feels like carrying so much weight around and suffering with back pain and feeling heavy etc. Also pretty disgusted with myself and my flabby arms! Can’t wait to get back to being able to properly work out. I still look small so midwives haven’t weighed me but they’ll be shocked if I do. Nearly 1.5 stone has gone on since lockdown as mobility has just been reduced from having a really active job to going outside for 1 hour each day, if that. Feel so depressed about how this is going to affect my body and birth :(
