I had a 16 week private diagnostic scan for gender while there she mentioned I had low placenta. Did not say placenta praevia just said it was low and said will prob move up. What does it look like to you? I’m terrified.

I had a low lying placenta also and my scan pics looked similar, mine moved back up.
I think the scan pics are lovely, try not to be too worried, it will most likely move up.
Take care

Where is my cervix on the pictures? Haha I have no clue what it is. Is my cervix covered? I don’t know and thank you.

I had full placenta praevia with my second and third children. I knew 4 other people who had the same and had no issues, other than requiring cs. Mine was unstable which was troublesome.

Do you have another NHS scan at 20-22 weeks?

CursesAndMagic · 24/04/2020 21:35

Yes nhs scan 22nd May I’m just worried I don’t know what’s placenta and cervix on pics or if it’s covering.

At my 12 week scan my placenta was low. I had my 20 week scan the other day and it's now high. So it is possible it'll move. If it's low still at your 20 week scan I think they offer an additional scan just to check.

Try not to worry and I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine! Flowers

I had a low lying placenta at my 20 week scan, and was told that as the uterus grows, in most cases, it pulls the placenta up and away from the cervix. I had a follow up scan at 28 weeks and everything was absolutely fine. It’s quite rare for it to stay low, and it won’t go further down, only up. Good luck 😊

I had a low lying placenta at my 20 weeks scan. I was told that it would likely move & had scans at 32,34 & 36 weeks to keep checking. It wasn't full placenta previa, but it was still covering the smallest amount, that they weren't happy for me to have a vaginal delivery. I had a scheduled c section at 38 weeks & I have nothing but positive things to say about it. Yes it was scary & as my first birth not what I had planned, but it was all fine & recovery was not too bad.
