Can anyone tell me what to expect from my booking appointment on Monday? I’ve called to confirm it’s still going ahead but I’m scared I won’t have answers ready for all the questions! I’m a first timer and obviously hubby can’t come with me so I’m just a bit anxious.

Thank you!

As long as you know of any underlying health conditions in both families you'll be fine. It's mainly an introduction to maternity care and them checking what medication you have, if you're doing ok and so on.

Don't stress about it, it's more of a chat than a medical appointment.

Mines on Monday too! If it's anything like my one with baby #1 it's questions about you and your husband - job, health questions, questions about smoking, drinking, questions about any previous pregnancies etc. They asked about birth options - obviously you can change this but for example I'm in-between two maternity hospitals so can go to either. They checked weight & height and did blood & urine tests last time but from reading on here I'm not sure if they'll do the blood test or if they leave that to the 12 week scan.

Make sure you know if you or your DH have any relatives with heart disease or hereditary diseases or conditions that you may pass on.

Loooooong most of questions re past health, family history, previous pregnancies/miscarriages etc. I almost nodded off during mine.

Thank you all! That’s really helpful 😊 I’m not totally clear on what birth options are available to me so I’ll do some research over the weekend.

@Colouringinbook hope your appointment goes well too!

It’s just a form filling exercise to risk assess you and determine the pathway you will be on in pregnancy.
