Baby Movements?

Hi guys, I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but having searched the Internet, I cant see anything relating to my exact question. So basically I am pregnant for the first time and I'm currently 17 weeks & 3 days. Today I have felt what I can only describe as muscle spasms in my lower abdomen. It lasted for a few minutes, maybe 20-30 seconds apart at a time, sometimes quicker. I know this can be the baby moving, however I also physically saw my stomach move at the same time. Surely its too early to see this? I am of slim build, normally size 10 clothing and I have a posterior placenta. What do you guys think?

It could be! I'm 18 and 2 and have been having more movements that definitely haven't been accompanied by gas afterwards!
Every woman is different though - I have been seeing lots of women behind me in my bumper group elsewhere having movements and I've been saying, Where's mine then?!
It's not too early for you to be feeling movement I don't think but it's not late either! I wouldn't worry too much about it - I'm just having fun deciding if any odd feelings are baby or gas right now! Grin

The muscle spasm feeling is how I would describe first movements but I didn't see the movements until I was gone 23 weeks.

I first felt movements at around 18 weeks and I have an anterior placenta. I think it could definitely be movements for you!

I felt movements for the first time at 16 weeks and it's just like how you describe so I reckon it could be! I didn't see anything for a while thoughSmile
