I had IVF, but my clinic is now shut, and the last conversation was brief and in passing. What were you advised?

I'm 8+2 with a FET so taking Progynova and Cyclogest. Was discharged from the IVF clinic on Monday after the viability scan and given a plan to ween off from 10 weeks;

Current doses are 3x Progynova 2x Cyclogest

10-11 weeks 2x Progynova 2x Cyclogest

11-12 1x Progynova 1x Cyclogest

12 weeks all medication stopped

I was on cyclogest until 24 weeks, then weaned off over the last two weeks. At one stage I was on 6 x 400mg a day! This was undoutedly because of my age, my clinic were testing my blood at least once a week and prescribed it weekly too.

Thanks everyone. I will try emailing the clinic and see if anyone is still checking and can reply. I last spoke to them 5 weeks ago with a positive result. I asked the nurse when I stop taking them, she seemed a bit unsure and said 8 weeks.

@hamjul - can I ask how old you are? Was age the only reason they wanted you to continue till 24 weeks? I'm prescribed 2 a day.

Morning & evening until 2 weeks....can't wait to stop.

@Elouera I am mid 40's - this is my first baby after trying many years to concieve. My clinic were testing my progesterone levels on a weekly basis, and were prescribing cyclogest as a result. It's worth mentioning that my levels were incredibly low, so much so that I was also injecting prontogest twice daily - was tough!

LASandOtto · 24/04/2020 15:23

I'm on them until 24 weeks, 2 per day. I've had previous miscarriages so my clinic prescribed them until then. Started off on 4 per day, plus Lubion injections. My progesterone Levels were also monitored until week 12.

Elouera · 24/04/2020 15:41

@hamjul- thanks. I assume my levels are normal, but I don't actually remember them checking them Hmm

400 twice daily till 16 weeks on the advise of the miscarriage consultant. I have normal progesterone levels so it was a belt and braces approach.
