Hi,

Did anyone make an extra effort to look after their teeth while they were pregnant? I know we get free dental care for this reason.

At the moment due to Covid, dentists are only seeing patients for severe pain and they’re treating things like abscesses with antibiotics over the phone. My teeth haven’t always been great and I have had a swelling on my gum for a long time which I’ve googled and looks like gingivitis. Sad No pain or abscess though.

Just wondering whether to ignore it and cope or get it checked if they’ll even see me.

Thanks Smile

I had this exact thing on my gum, now it's a slightly darker red patch on the gumline. I know pregnancy can affect gums, but my dentist is closed so I guess I can't have a check up during pregnancy like id planned. I did do salt water mouthwash a couple of times a day and applied genigel which helped.

No major issues with my teeth at the moment (yet..) but from what I have seen from some people complaining on Facebook, they aren’t even seeing people in agony at the moment really, with emergency cases. They just seem to be prescribing antibiotics was painkillers over the phone but I don’t know how long that will go on for...

Ooh thanks I’ll try this, just don’t want it to get any worse as I’m conscious I can feel it now which makes it worse haha
