Prostin gel induction

How long did your induction take?
My first examination showed I'm 1-2cm dilated before starting induction process.

She then inserted the prostin gel (around 3pm) and I'm currently waiting out the 6 hour period until I next get assessed. The MW said they should be able to break my waters tonight. 🤞🏼

Anyone else been induced from a 1-2cm with prostin gel, what happened?

I should probably mention in 40+7 too so not an early induction. Had an unsuccessful sweep at 40+4, I was told I was 'about 1cm' at the time.

I had two does of the gel one at 8.30bthe next at 12.30 they moved me to labour ward at about 3, broke my water at 4.30 and I had my son at 22.55, I'm hoping you've had your baby by now !

Update:
Had my little boy at 40+8 Friday 24/04/2020 at 4:05am💙

Prostin gel didn't seem to do anything, went in at 3pm and by time 9pm came i was still 1-2cm but midwife went ahead and broke my waters anyway 😰 ouch.

At that point (around 10pm) my birthing partner was allowed to return to hospital to join me as I was transferred to a delivery room. My body started having contractions naturally and I was able to breathe through them fine.
Midwife checked me again but said I was only 2cm dilated still. Babies heart rate was extremely fast at first, almost 200bpm and I was hooked up to IV fluids to try and slow it down. It worked.

Laboured on my own for a while, but things weren't progressing so was put on hormone drip, baby didn't like this and his heart rate dipped to 90bpm. I was told to change positions lots but his heart rate remained low until they couldn't pick it up. They turned the hormone drip off. They placed a clip on his head to have a direct trace. It came back up but only to around 110bpm.

I had an epidural for pain (had to have 2 as first one failed). I was experiencing a ton of pressure and pain and midwife thought I may have been ready to push. Unfortunately, babies head was extremely low down but my cervix was stuck at 2cm, doctors also noticed baby had opened his bowels so was showing signs of severe distress.

We all agreed EMCS was the safest option, I'm really happy with my experience in theatre, it was very calm and relaxed. So grateful to have my boy here now ❤️
