I’m sitting in the waiting room after for glucose test (will be retested at 11am), anyone else struggle with waiting that long without food? I’ve fasted since last night as they said and I struggle with fainting and feeling weak at the best of times and I am definitely a morning eater. I feel absolutely starving! Just had to go and lay down in the loo as I felt I was going to pass out. Just wondering if anyone else had struggled with the test when they had it?

They cancelled mine! It should've been yesterday but I have to have a different test because they don't want people hanging round. I so wish I'd got it over with!
I do remember being absolutely starving hungry after the last one I had.

Birdy1991 · 23/04/2020 10:25

@Liverbird77 sorry to hear that. Have they rescheduled for a midwife appointment? They were discussing doing that for mine but instead just moved the venue to the outpatients rather than the antenatal department.

I had mine this morning and yes, I was a bit dizzy and so tired from not eating. Bleh. I brought a full packed breakfast though and ate it right outside the front doors where everyone was smoking... not my finest hour.

Not long to go, hang in there!

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 23/04/2020 10:29

Mine was due next week and has been cancelled too. I'm having an alternative blood test on the 8th of May instead.
Hope yours goes well x

Liverbird77 · 23/04/2020 10:29

Yes, they've rescheduled for a couple of weeks' time. I just have the one blood test and then a midwife appt, so no waiting around.
Last time, I was in a room with six or seven others. Me and another girl really hit it off. We ended up giving birth at the same time. We are still friends now after that experience!!

I remember feeling abit sick during my wait. Not long now and you can get some breakfast Brew

Birdy1991 · 23/04/2020 11:47

Done, thank god! Good luck to everyone still waiting on appointments x

I felt okay during it. It was after I’d eaten something after I got home that I became really dizzy, tired and felt faint.
Look after yourself and take it easy for the rest of the day!

Babyshine2020 · 23/04/2020 13:08

Can anybody tell me what the drink tastes like?

This is my biggest concern about it all ConfusedGrin

I'm due to have mine on 4th May and as it stands it's still going ahead. Luckily I've got the 8am slot so nice and early!

Winter2019 · 23/04/2020 13:13

Oh Gosh that was horrible. The drink itself wasn't too bad, just sweet but after waiting around I threw up in the waiting room

Lemonysherbet · 23/04/2020 13:14

@Babyshine2020 it's like a cheap sugary cocktail. I really enjoyed it 😂

anon1133 · 23/04/2020 13:24

@Babyshine2020 like non-fizzy Lucozade!

DJBebe · 23/04/2020 13:45

They cancelled my test, apparently they will do a blood test at 28 weeks instead. 🤦‍♀️

Babyshine2020 · 23/04/2020 14:10

@anon1133 @Lemonysherbet thank you! I've had to have other drinks for investigation's with my stomach before and they've made me puke before they'd even got what they needed so I was hoping it wouldn't be the same.

Sounds like it isn't, what I had tasted like chalk!

Birdy1991 · 23/04/2020 14:10

@Winter2019 I was nearly on that level! I felt seriously odd!

The drink itself I found ok. Like non-fizzy lucozade as anon1133 said. I couldn’t drink it quick enough as I just wanted some energy 🤣
