Faint positive line on clear blue

Hi Everyone, need some help. My little boy is now 5 and me and my partner have been trying to get pregnant. I came off the contraceptive injection in august 2019 and my periods started regulating again at Christmas time. I know this is not a long time to everyone but it honestly feels like forever when I know people have become pregnant after coming off the injection in 2 weeks. I felt there was something different with me so I took a rest. My period was due anytime between 20th-23rd which is obviously today. I took the first clear blue on the 21st and the second on 22nd and I can see fairly faint positive lines on both and I read you take w digital to know for sure so I did but it says not pregnant ? I didn't think you could get fake positives ? HELP I'm in such a mess over this. Still no sign of period.

Did the line come up within the time limit? If so, congratulations!!

Digitals are less sensitive than the other tests so it’s normal to get a negative on a digital early on. Try again in a few days once your hCG levels have increased

lucyrp · 23/04/2020 08:11

It wasn't in the time limit no☹️ I threw it in the bin and went downstairs devastated and came back up hour or so later and it was there. Same with the other one took it at 6am and the line was there by the time I woke up again at 8am☹️

If it was after the time limit it might be an evaporation line, but it also might be that your pregnant but just very early. Do you know when you ovulated?

Test again in a couple of days (with a similar test, not a digital). If you are pregnant then the line should appear within the time limit by then and you’ll know for sure. Good luck

lucyrp · 23/04/2020 08:22

If I could post the photos it would help but I'm not able to ☹️ I think the lines are darker than any other posts with people with faint lines but they're still faint. I've never had evaporation lines before ☹️

I should add I also did a boots own brand test and it was completely negative but it was a test from missed period one and obviously my period is only due today so I disregarded that one

The first pregnancy test I did took a while to turn and it was just due to how early on I found out.. I then waited a few days and the test turned quite quickly so id suggest maybe waiting another week and try again.. fingers crossed for you Smile

lucyrp · 23/04/2020 13:39

@Astar123 okay thank you its so hard to wait though isn't it! Il just wait now to see which comes first my period or next week and then il do a test

Not sure. I’d wait another couple of days ro be sure or get a FRER

Starburst12 · 25/04/2020 10:16

I would get a FRER. When I got my bfp it was very clear on a FRER but took a few days to get a clear line on clear blue early detection. It took around 5 days to get a positive on a digital.

lucyrp · 25/04/2020 11:11

@AdriannaP @Starburst12 okay thank you. Still no sign of period as of yet technically this is day 37 of my cycle. I swear the most expensive part about having a child is the testing to check! Il buy some FRER when I next pop out and try that. So disheartening

Always make sure to check within the time limit, if it comes up after that then it's not a true positive and is most likely an evap line.

On another note, blue due tests (and especially digitals) are generally less sensitive so you'd be better off testing with a pink dye test anyway if you don't want to wait. First response are good....or the co-op do cheap ones which worked for me from about 10 dpo.

Good luck

lucyrp · 25/04/2020 14:47

May aswell give up now by the sounds of it

I did boots own brand and they have pink die and they were negative

@lucyrp give up on what? I know you're feeling disheartened but repeated testing won't alter whether you're actually pregnant or not.

Maybe you just ovulated late this month? My cycle is normally like clockwork but there have been 2 or 3 occasions in my whole adult life where I've randomly had a 45 day cycle or even missed a period completely with no explanation.

Or maybe it's just very, very early so not showing up on the tests yet?

Either way, only time is going to give you the answer. My best suggestion would be to get a FRER and wait a day or 2 then test with FMU. Good luck.

lucyrp · 25/04/2020 17:12

Okay thanks I just got excited I may be pregnant because I've had the implantation bleeding too

OP posts:
sel2223 · 25/04/2020 17:16

And you could well be OP, definitely don't rule it out! It might just be too early for the tests.
I hope you get the answer you're wishing for x

justanotherneighinparadise · 25/04/2020 17:16

I think you can be hopeful but keep yourself in check until the FRER arrives. Everything crossed for you 🤞

Tootletum · 25/04/2020 17:19

Get the ovulation sticks. Really helped me so I knew when to test and just felt I guess like some control in the process.

lucyrp · 27/04/2020 15:22

So I did some cheap tests from co op and it says that no matter how faint the line is it is a positive and this is what I got ...

Faint positive line on clear blue

My first BFP was a coop test and it looked just like that! (I'm now almost 25 weeks)

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/04/2020 15:55

That’s a good positive test OP. Congrats xx

lucyrp · 27/04/2020 16:50

@sel2223 @justanotherneighinparadise Aw thank you! Trying not to get too excited just incase but is coming more real now x
