Waters leaking or pessary side effect?

After a bit of advice....
I used balance activ pessaries last night and the night before. I've just been to the toilet, got back in to bed and water has soaked my pants and leaked onto my bed. When I woke up yesterday my pants were a little damp but nothing to concern me (thought it was sweat, sorry, a bit tmi) but this just now made me worry a bit. I'm 36+2, had a growth scan yesterday and everything was fine. I've popped a pad in but I'm currently back in bed lying down.

Has anyone experienced this?
Could this be my waters or the pessary?

Any advice would be great 🖤

Sounds like the pessary leaking. Do you have any pains?

Staceywaceywooo · 23/04/2020 07:29

@neverknewsomany No, but I had a very slow leak (didn't even notice) with my first and I never had any pains. And I've had my waters broke and didn't have any pain

Is it clear liquid? I've used those before and its usually sort of chalky white stuff that comes back out but maybe they've just increased discharge?

Staceywaceywooo · 23/04/2020 07:40

@islandislandisland From what I could tell it looked completely clear xx

Hmm don't think I've had that but doesn't mean that hasn't caused it for you. Maybe ring triage if you have one or midwife just to check?

Mummyspider27 · 23/04/2020 08:12

I would call the hospital just to be sure xx

Staceywaceywooo · 23/04/2020 08:52

@islandislandisland @Mummyspider27 I just don't want to waste anyone's time. If they were leaking would they be constant? I would have thought so xx

Not necessarily, I think what comes out after using them is the leftover ingredients of the pessary after the medicine bit has been absorbed, and it just gets expelled from your body. But I think you should ring just in case, they really won't mind.

Mummyspider27 · 23/04/2020 09:27

You honestly won’t be wasting anyones time. Please call. They can trickle and not gush xx

Sounds like your waters, so please contact your hospital and get checked out.

If you’ve got any maternity pads put one of those on as normal sanitary towels soak up the fluid and it’s hard to tell if it’s urine or amniotic fluid.

TenThousandSpoons0 · 23/04/2020 09:36

Sounds like your waters, best to get things checked out.

Staceywaceywooo · 23/04/2020 11:12

I've removed the sanitary towel, it's been about 3 hours and there doesn't seem to be anymore fluid xx

I’ve called the hospital. They haven’t got any concerns cos I haven’t had any more fluid or blood or pains. They’ve told me to monitor it and if I do loose anymore to call back xx

@Mummyspider27 I'm glad I called too. The midwife was lovely too xx
