20 Week Rescan

Hello lovelies,

I had my 20 week anomaly scan today and they were able to get majority of measurements, however, couldn't get measurements for the face and heart. They told me it's nothing to worry about and it's just that baby was lying in an awkward position but now my mind has gone into overdrive that something could be wrong. If they had concerns about anything would they have told me there and then?

Hope someone can reassure me lol, very nervous with this pregnancy!

Thanks :-)

No, it will be just that. I was the same, baby girl was no in the right position. Sonographer was really good and asked me to do some walking, star jumps, lie on side, lie this way and final trick was just to go on all 4’s for a few minutes but she warned me if that didn’t work I’d have to come back. Luckily she managed to get what she needed. I wouldn’t worry

Exact same thing happened at my 20 week scan. They just need to rescan so they can get a close look at the bits they couldn't see. Went back and everything was fine.

My sister had the same problem with her baby but had to go back 3 times because he was hiding different organs!

I had to go back twice! I asked directly if there was an issue, and was told that they would have said.

Sometimes babies ate just not cooperative. Theres a choice of trying and getting a clearly wrong measurement because the view is not good or scanning again. It's just they need to see more clearly. I used to find noise made my first baby move when he wasnt co operating so if things like drinking coke help make the baby move,( I've been advised many times to try this just in scans when the baby is hard to see) then bear that in mind in case the baby is hard to see again. I'm sure it's nothing more than wanting to get clear view.

I had to go back as well. I got a call the day after the scan to say after they had reviewed the scans they hadn't got a good image of the baby's nose. I went into panic mode as they had been commenting on how great all the pictures were that they were getting especially of his face. But it was just that and they got the pictures quickly the next day

I literally asked the exact same thing last week as I was feeling the same.... they couldn't get heart or face for my little one either but all was absolutely fine at the rescan.
