Next to me crib

Did anyone use a next to me crib with their children? I'm wondering whether to buy one given my son hated his moses basket and was transferred to his cot at 5 weeks old. We don't have the luxury of doing that this time as we need to keep the new nursery as an office until the virus crisis is over. As a crib is smaller it means we can keep it in our room for longer. Is it worth spending the money? Can anyone recommend a good one? Thank you

After weeks of deliberation, reading online reviews and pestering all my Mum friends for their thoughts I've just bought a Snuzpod. Haven't used it yet though but it seems sturdy and is a good size. I used a code LAURYN20 to get £20 off it from Snuz website and I got a free SnuzCloud night light/pink noise thingy. I originally didn't want to spend that much but as this is DC2 we haven't had to buy anything else.

We used the Chicco next to me and I'd really recommend it.

It’s a good crib, and very convenient for night feeds as you don’t have to get up.

We have a Chicco next to me, only got it when she was it 5 weeks and I wish we had bought one to start with!
Made life so much easier than lifting her over the side of the crib when she was fussing.
May of been coincidence, but since having the next to me, she sleeps better and for longer

I love the chicco, we are using it again now for second one who is due in a couple weeks! Ds1 was in it till he was 8 months!! We also had a sleepyhead which fit it perfectly!!

I used the tutti bambini cozee crib and it was fab! Fit DD in until she was 6 months and went into a proper cot and she was a big baby. I didn't use it attached to the bed just next to the bed and because it has a mesh side i could see her all night. And it tilts which was a godsend for reflux!

We had the Chicco Next2Me, I loved it. As pp said, very convenient for night feeding, and you can be very close to baby without being in their sleeping space. Have lent it to DSis and DH's friend, and we will hopefully be using it for our 2nd at the end of the year. It's still in great condition, just needs a new mattress.

If you're not sure, you could hire one for a couple of weeks - if you Google, a few places come up, it's about £20 a week.

Alternatively, see if you can get one second hand. They hold their value well.

Would highly recommend them, I bought it with DC 1 now using with DC2 and so glad we bought it 👍🏻

Having a 'co-sleeping' crib was by far the best thing that I had for my second child that I didn't have for my first. Just fed and then put him back next to me and he just seemed to love looking at me and falling asleep!

I had an old crib that DH we converted into a side cot, but I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money if I had my time again.

We had a Chicco next to me. It was excellent and I really recommend, especially good for night feeds as I was BF. I would absolutely use it again

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to post, it sounds like a next to me crib is well worth the money.

I had a converted one with my first and an amazon one (which is rubbish) with my second. Would defo recommend as an approach, although neither DC spent much time in there! It was a useful bed guard and bed extender.

Get yourself a double sized mattress protector for any leaks.
