Hello,

Just wondered if anyone wanted to join who has either been through or going through a pregnancy with hashimotos.

I have just found out I am pregnant; had 1 MMC and 2 cp since July 19, so really hoping this one sticks.

I had bloods done just before BFP, TSH was 0.6, then re done yesterday and has gone up to 2.6.

I am assuming GP will increase my thyroxine, but not heard back yet.

Thanks

@HarrietM87 yes, so basically on Wednesday took extra 25mcg after results, then the same today.

Think I will stick to that until next week when I speak to the consultant, and see what he then recommends (as you say, wouldn't be surprised if he says every day)

Thanks

Ahh, managed to get a call back from a Dr at our local Endocrinology clinic attached to the hospital - one I had an appt for in July.

She had all my details and test results, and has agreed to increase to 150mcg each day - writing a prescription to my GP now.

Also sending me a blood request form to get done in a few weeks, and speaking to their antenatal dpt to book me an appointment.

Guess it really was worth making a nuisance of myself.

@ceebee21 yey glad you got sorted! Scary though how many women must just accept what they are told and dont fight for it

HarrietM87 · 24/04/2020 16:25

Excellent @ceebee21! It really is awful that you have to fight for this. So many women must not be aware of it and if not treated it can lead to miscarriage. It’s so scary.

I know, painful. And luckily I had that appointment with the endocrinology booked and was able to ring them etc z

@ceebee21 glad you got sorted!

If you feel up to it you should write a letter to GP.... it at least may prompt them to do some teaching on it and help someone who's not as on the ball as you In the future?

Fab news @ceebee21. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.

Well, just started bleeding so dont think it's going to end well for me. @HarrietM87 I have an appt with Dr S end of June..think that may be the way forward for me. Xx

Hi All, Thought I would update - had a scan this week at 7 +2 and all was fine - measuring at the correct dates, and saw a flickering heartbeat.

Hope you are all doing well

Really interesting posts. I found out by myself that I needed my thyroxine to increase. Nobody mentioned it. So frustrating and dangerous to our babies :(

Hi everyone, I have Hashimoto's Disease but did not take it till in my fifties after suffering from a virus. (Not that virus, they actually could not tell me what I had). I don't normally post on forums but would just like to say there is a charity called Thyroid UK which has some really good advice on their site. www.thyroiduk.org also on Facebook. They have information re dietary advice. Unfortunately don't know about pregnancy with Hashimotos as I had my family long before I had the condition. Wishing all the expectant mothers on this site the very best.
