Morning after pill mishap at 17

Hello, so basically about a month ago the condom broke during sex so I went and got the morning after pill. I started my period before I took it on the same day and all seemed fine -flash forward to two weeks later and it broke again so my boyfriend and I went to go get the pill the next day but were denied it as they told us it was still classed as the same cycle but advised I contact my gp on the following Monday which would have been 4 days after the accident! Basically they couldn't help me and now I am very worried I may be pregnant. My period is currently three days late, I know that can be a side effect of taking the pill but as well as that I've had also all sorts of abnormal symptoms or side effects going on. I know the only way to be sure is to take a test but I can't until the week is over and I just can't stop stressing about it! Any advice or anything? (just really needed to vent honestly)

Do you have any other symptoms? I always had sore boobs and lots of white creamy discharge when I was pregnant.

You can get FRER tests which are more sensitive which may show up for you. Sorry you're going through a lot of stress.

I'd also maybe look at other methods of contraception if you can as it won't be good for your body to keep having emergency contraception.

My understanding is it delays ovulation so I don't see how a morning after pill would serve any purpose for the sex you had two weeks later.
Take a pregnancy test.

No advice on the morning after pill but as for the condoms, there's a reason they're breaking so often. Either they're not the correct size or they're being put on incorrectly. Maybe look into that.

Good luck! Flowers

justanotherneighinparadise yes, a lot of weird cramping, discharge and breast tenderness like you said. I've been incredibly emotional too, crying at the smallest things happy or sad-thanks for responding

Taking a test is your best bet for the immediate situation.
For the future, the coil can also be used as emergency contraception and for upto 5 days after unprotected sex (hopefully you won't need it again).
Would it be also be worth booking an appointment to discuss additional contraception? I seem to recall being advised to double up with contraception e.g. Condoms plus pill/coil/implant/injection etc.

Superscientist- Just bought a test, gonna try it tomorrow morning. Was discussing other types of contraception with my boyfriend just before this happened, typical! Definitely going to have a look into it when this is resolved. Thanks for responding!

Take the test now!

Did you contact the doctor on the Monday and they said they couldn't help? I would have thought they would have at least discussed another method of contraception with you.
Agree you should look at another type of contraception, agree with pp that doubling up contraception is always a good idea.

Hope everything works out ok Flowers

Weddingnamechange I did contact the doctor but basically by the time they could get me in there wasn't really anything they could do unfortunately. They did give a bit of advice as what to do going forward and when to test etc -thanks for the support!

Welp I took a clearblue test this morning and it came negative and not gonna lie I'm really confused! Got another sitting there I'm planning on taking at the end of the week depending on how things go. Feeling really nauseous and crampy today and again, just really confused!

Try not to panic, stress can delay your period.
Try another test again in a few days, and try to do it the first time you go to the toilet in the morning.
