Tips for attending induction alone?

Not how I imagined my first experience of childbirth to be... but I'm getting induced in 2 days time, and will have to attend my induction alone.

My partner can only come back to the hospital once I'm in 'established labour' which could take days Sad

Does anyone have any tips or advice? Would be greatly appreciated!

Oh that's awful I completely feel for you. I'm 29 weeks with my second and I'm dreading the thought of having to be on my own during any stages of the labour. I don't have much advice but I do have complete sympathy. As much as I understand the measures that have to be put in place I think the care giving to pregnant women right now is not the same as it would be, it's really unfair. Labour is such a hard thing to go through even more so with it being your first. Sending hugs and just know that I'm sure the midwifes will do as much as they can to support you.

I’m sorry you are facing this, I know it’s no consolation but I spent most of my induction alone as it was for me a long process and DH needed to save the time for the other end. Take whatever you like doing to pass time, a book, Netflix etc. Take an eye mask and ear plugs, it’s noisy as hell on hospital wards! Take some snacks to pass the time. It may actually be quicker than you think before your partner is able to join you and I’m sure with the current situation it means that the women on the ward will talk to each other more than in normal circumstances. I’ll be induced again too.
