Mat1b form

Hello,

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and everything was good. I'm a FTM and I was so overwhelmed by it all that I forgot to ask when I'd receive my Mat1b form to hand to my employer.
Does anyone know when I'll get this? Do I need to chase up my midwife or will I get it at my next appointment?
When is the latest I can hand it in to my employer?

Thanks dad

From what I can remember from my last pregnancy you have to hand it in 15 weeks before your due date (so 25 weeks pregnant). I don't know if that's standard or dependant on where you work but I'd imagine it's everywhere? Might be worth just ringing your midwife, I had to chase mine a lot and in the end she just posted it through my door.

I got mine at my 25 weeks appt with the midwife

Got mine at my 25 week midwife appointment handed it to work week after and it was fine

I spoke to my midwife at 22 weeks (to book my 25 week) and she sent it out in the post to me just in case my 25 week appt ends up being cancelled or changed in the current climate.

She also said HR departments have enough to deal with so it gives them chance to process it.

I just scanned both sides & sent it off in an email.

I was never offered one . I had a GP appointment around 22-24 weeks and asked for one there . She filled it out for me on the spot no issues !

I was never given one until I asked. She filled it out in the room!

It will be given to you at your next appointment face to face. Your employer legally needs to be notified of your pregnancy by 25 weeks but they don’t need to be given the matb1 at that time. They need that four weeks before you are due to go on maternity leave. Regardless of what they try to tell you.

My hospital trust have issued guidance that at the moment the MATB1 will be provided at the 28 week appointment. Frustrating but probably not a lot I can do about it! Guidance will probably have changed before I'm 28 weeks anyway!

Same happened to me, we both completely forgot at my appointment and the next one would've been much too late.

Give your midwife a ring and ask. Mine left it at reception for me to pick up the following week (not sure whether that's feasible at the moment, but I'm sure she'd be able to post it out to you if not).

MangoM · 21/04/2020 10:58

Oh, didn't know about the 28 week change. Either way, your midwife will be able to guide you if you get in touch with her.
