Hey ☺️

I’ve had quite a few issues in my pregnancy such as Hyperemesis and nausea, bad dizziness etc, which meant that I was basically bed bound for the first 18 weeks.

I’m 23 weeks now and feeling better so have been doing some small walks to get back into exercise, but I get awful stitch like pulling pains down one side of my bump, usually the left but it tends to move to both sides after a while. My bump also feels like it goes rock solid while I’m walking.

Is this just because I’m so unfit now from being so ill? 😫 I was never super fit but I could at least walk for 5 mins without having to stop. When I sit down or stand still it eases off.

I feel like I need to keep hold of my bump while I walk or it’ll drop off, I’m not particularly big yet either but it is my first baby and I’m quite slim and small at 5’1 so not sure whether my frame just can’t hack the extra weight 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m worried when I get bigger it’s gonna get even worse, has anyone had this? I don’t want to go to the GP really given the current situation but I also don’t want to be unable to walk for more than 5 mins!

Watching this with interest because it looks like we’re having identical pregnancies! I’m 22 weeks and after spending most of the first half of my pregnancy over the sink, I’m finally feeling a bit better and look forward to my walks in the park every evening. But I’m getting the same pains and wondering if I need a bump support?

Have you tried walking very slowly? You may need to very gradually work up to being able to walk at a more normal pace, and don't push yourself at all on the length of walk until you're feeling much more fit. This helped me after a period of having to rest, anyway.

You need a bump support thing from Amazon, they're about £20. Life saver!

Omg this was exactly me today, I haven't been walking much with lock down but I walked 3km today and had these exact pains. I'm 22 weeks too. I was walking holding my belly up. It did ease off slightly the longer I walked but I had to go so slowly x

Sounds like it could be round ligament pain, as PP suggests try a bump support to help and hopefully the more you move the more all the muscles will ease. Although painful I think walking is the best thing if it is round ligament pain

They were supposed to ring me sometime today but it’s not happened . I’ve literally not been on the phone to anyone all day just in case. Since the pain has stopped not sure if I should just wait it out or ring again

I have this but I’m only 17 weeks. I’m looking at bump supports x

Ligament pain more than likely. Can be really painful. Mine feels like the baby is scratching me sometimes.

If you're worried contact your midwife xx
