Hi everyone! Soooo I’m quite worried. I do not know want to be pregnant right now and regretfully had unprotected sex a couple of months ago on separate occasions (stupid I know 😩...).

Sooo just a break down.. the last time I had sexual intercourse was on the 04/02/2020... I was late for my period already that week by 8 days and was so worried. I went to the pharmacy and got myself the Elaone emergency contraceptive pill on 07/02/2020 and thankfully I started my period the following day on the 8th feb.

Since then I had a second period on March 15th which if I can remember was quite dark blood and felt slightly shorter than normal.

I am due/overdue my period for the month (May) yet I’m having pms symptoms.

My concern is that I keep feeling very Very nauseas! Not many other pregnant symptoms other than having some lower back ache and weird abdo sensations.

I have probably taken about 12 (possibly more) pregnancy tests which have all come out negative!!!

It’s been about 10 weeks since this unprotected Sex.. I’m scared I am pregnant. My GP are saying that because preg tests are negative they can’t do anything. Any advise would be highly appreciated. Many thanks xxx

If all of your pregnancy tests are negative there's a pretty good chance you're not pregnant. The morning after pill can really mess up your cycles for a long time.

You're probably not pregnant. Your ovulation can vary due to stress or hormones so being late doesn't actually mean that your period is late but more likely that ovulation was delayed, hence your luteal phase isn't over yet and therefore you haven't for your period yet.

Awww thanks soooo much for getting back to me 😩 I’m literally a nervous wreck!!! I can’t sleep .. constantly checking for things online and convincing myself I’m pregnant.

I am hoping it is just a side affect of the ela one!!! Just want my perks to start... quite badly x thank you

Emergency contraception can mess around with your hormones for ages, i suppose that's why we don't just use that all the time. Hopefully things settle for a bit for you soon. If you do need emergency contraception again though please get it much sooner as that's at the limit of it working and the effectiveness reduces a lot. If you're happy with hormonal contraception the GP should surely be able to prescribe over phone just now?
