So I woke up this morning with really bad pain on my right side. This cramping feeling. When I walked, sat or lay down. Of course I’m terrified it could be ectopic pregnancy but I don’t have any other symptoms as of yet. TMI but I’m hoping it’s just trapped gas. I’ve been trying to eat things to make me go toilet and hope that helps. It seems to help a bit when I walk around now but my husband is going work in a few hours and I’m anxious.

Has anyone ever had one does this sound anything like it. I don’t want to ring up the hospital and inconvenience them and it be nothing but I’ve never had this either so I’m freaking out a little. What would you do?

I had really bad one sided pain at 6 weeks. It was excruciating and I was convinced I was having an ectopic pregnancy. After a day spent in A&E I was seen for a scan at the EPU - baby was fine and in the right place, and the pain was being caused by a haemorrhage cyst on my ovary which was bleeding into my abdomen. It wasn't a cause for concern and the cyst disappeared completely by 12 weeks (the pain lasted about 3-4 weeks). They said I had done the right thing by going to A&E immediately to rule out ectopic, so I suggest you do the same today. I'm now 16 weeks with no complications - I really hope you have a similarly positive outcome 💕

I was thinking of waiting to see if it calmed down I don’t know if they’ll see me if I don’t have other symptoms. I know I had cysts with my daughter and that side near my pelvis has been a little sore for the past few days. The pain seems to have calmed down I don’t know if that would happen with an ectopic? Thank you for sharing that makes me feel better. And congrats on baby ☺️

I had right sided pain from about week 5 to 6 and was also worried about ectopic. I had a private scan at 6+6 and it showed a right sided corpus luteum cyst - they're really quite common and can cause pain in early pregnancy. Try not to worry too much, you could always call EPU or your midwife if you want some more reassurance x

Personally I wouldn't take any chances as ectopic can be so dangerous. As I say, the doctors at A&E and the staff at the EPU were all unequivocal that I had done the right thing by coming in, and seemed quite concerned about me until they had scanned me. At least phone the hospital or 111 to see what they suggest?

I rang the community midwife and I’m expecting a call from the hospital sometime today. I hope it’s just a cyst. A bit nervous because my husband is going work in a hour or so. Thank you so much for your help
