Bfp last week

After 2 years using no contraception and at least 1 year tracking cycles etc we got our bfp last week. I think I’m still in shock at the bfp, didn’t think for a minute it would happen and we had recently been put on the IVF waiting list

The irony is that we didn’t even track last month, mainly due to everything else going on. No one really knows that we were ttc and now I am concerned that people will judge us for getting pregnant during the pandemic. Will people think we are selfish? Have we been selfish?

I wouldn't worry too much. There will be some jokes about knowing what you were up to in lockdown, and there's already jokes of a baby boom but I don't think anyone will think you're selfish. I found out I am pregnant 1 week after lockdown started (so conceived before lockdown) but it has taken 4 years and 2 mc's to get here, so I'm just going to keep that in mind if I get any comments. If we hadn't fallen pregnant, we would have kept trying. We have no idea what things will look like in 9 months, and neither did the people who conceived in the last 9 months due to give birth soon. You can't always put your life on hold.

Congratulations! No you haven't been selfish. You've been trying quite a long time which must have been hard and it's wonderful it's happened naturally.

It's no ones business but yours, but I'd imagine most people will be happy for you and if anyone makes any negative comments just tell them the truth.

Congratulations!!

Don't let worrying about what other people might think dampen your mood. Allow yourself to be happy.
