Anyone who's had a planned c section in past few weeks - where partner can't come onto ward - do I need anything particular in my bag

I have a c section planned for 27th May and whilst I'm HOPING things will have changed by then and partner will be able to come to postnatal ward, I'm preparing myself to be heading in there alone.

Have all the usual suspects for my hospital bag..nighties, slippers/flip flops, big pants, but as I might be there on my own for 24 hours min, is there anything else people who've recently had a c section would suggest? My mums lending me her grabber so I don't have to bend down to get stuff from my case! Anything else people found helpful?

Thanks.

Snacks !
Wipes for face/body and dry shampoo in case you can’t get to the shower or your Dh can’t be there to hold baby whilst you do

Definitely snacks. Even without CV my OH was sent home at 8pm and I somehow missed dinner. That Kitcat I found in my bag was the actual best KitKat ever x

Someone else recommended a long scarf or dressing gown belt to tie to the bottom of the bed and use to hoik yourself up - not sure if it’s helpful or not but if it only takes a little bit if space in your bag...

Water bottle with a built in straw

My partner didn't stay in the postnatal ward with me when I had DC2 because he had to get home to be with DC1 (autistic, anxious).

You will be fine, the midwives will take care of you. Just don't be afraid to buzz them.
