Maternity leggings & jeans

I’m looking for some really good quality over the bump leggings and jeans. I’m only just into my 2nd trimester so not that big yet but looking for some as normal ones getting tight. I want leggings that aren’t too thin and see through that stay up nicely and don’t wear badly or bobble after a few wears. And any skinny jeans recommendations will be appreciated too. Had some in the past but kept falling down so some nicely fitted supportive ones would be great. Thanks x

H&M maternity lines do good quality jeans and leggings

MsChatterbox · 19/04/2020 14:04

Second vote for H&M!

A bit pricey but Seraphine are amazing, I'm wearing them now and so comfortable, flexible, wash really nicely, aren't see through either

Anaesthetist83 · 19/04/2020 14:06

I prefer my cheapo new look jeans to my serephine ones (serephine seem to need pulling up all the time)

Anaesthetist83 · 19/04/2020 14:06

Jeans that is. Serephine leggings are nice

I wore my existing leggings backwards, so the bum bit became the bump bit.

My bump was always too low for any maternity jeans as they all assumed you had a gap between your bump and top of your legs, which I didn't.

I got 2 pairs of maternity jeans from River Island and they really hold their shape.

I've been wearing them since I was 20 weeks and planning to continue wearing them after he's born until I can (hopefully!) get back into my regular skinny jeans

I had really nice maternity leggings from Asos - not see through, stayed up and very comfy. Good luck with the jeans - I found them an absolute nightmare when pregnant and never managed to get a well-fitting pair.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 19/04/2020 14:12

I got 3 pairs from Dorothy Perkins when I was about 16 weeks pregnant.

They are the Ellis ones, I got them in black, indigo & mid blue colours.

They've been great & seen me through to 36 weeks so far & still going strong. I've worn them to death too.

Leggings I bought normal ones from Primark, their softer comfort ones which easily fit over my bump. Even now I'm nearing the end.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 19/04/2020 14:13

Sorry the DP Ellis are jeans..

lustforlife · 19/04/2020 17:14

Topshop Joni jeans have been my favourite Smile

Lemonysherbet · 19/04/2020 17:17

I hate the mat jeans. They just fall down! Mat leggings aren't much better, I just sized up in high waisted normal ones :)

Maryam18 · 19/04/2020 17:18

Love leggings.co.uk maternity range. They are the comfiest I've found and quality is amazing.

Marpan · 19/04/2020 17:24

I actually bought the M&S maternity leggings.(I’m not old)

They are cotton not see through and they come in lengths I wore the Size 6R through pregnancy and they were so good. I tumble dried them too and they were fine. I had a huge bump and they covered it great for being my usual size.

Did not wear jeans once.

Superscientist · 19/04/2020 17:26

I have some maternity jeggings from new look which I like. I didnt intentionally buy jeggings but I wouldn't have known without looking at the order sheet.

MRSSGS · 19/04/2020 17:35

H&M and top shop for jeans.
I found leggings didn't fit me until late on in my second trimester I'm a size 6-8 normally, just something to keep in mind. A few sizes up might be ok for now xxx

badg3r · 19/04/2020 17:45

But maternity jeans with belt loops, then you can partially avoid the falling down-ness by wearing a belt under the bump! I have a pair of extra think leggings from hnm, not maternity but was able to wear them to term with both previous pregnancies. The miso thickness leggings from hnm, new look, etc were all a bit see through when I bent over

Coffeeandcake1 · 19/04/2020 18:46

Another vote for Love Legggings maternity range - they are super soft, don't go see through and have plenty of space for growing bump.
I wore maternity jeans for most of my first pregnancy because I didn't manage to find any comfy leggings but I have 4 pairs from LoveLeggings so far this time round (33 weeks) and will order some more as I'll prob keep wearing after baby is born!

Thank you all! Lots to go on here.
@KellyHall haha that sounds like a really good idea wearing leggings backwards, I will give it a go 2moro.
On past pregnancy experience i’d agree with you @KatnissK and @Lemonysherbet jeans would never stay up, May just live in over sized normal ones & dresses!
@Marpan haha I buy from M&S and I’m not old, I think it’s an ok thing to do 😂
@MRSSGS mmmm might well just go a size or two up in normal for now as I’m usually an 8 and not far into 2nd T, could find maternity a bit on the large side for now.
Thankyou all so much x

I also got full briefs 3 sizes too big and wore them backwards too. They fit exactly like maternity knickers but at a fraction of the cost! 😉
