Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has had trouble with visual stimulation making their morning sickness worse?

I'm 10weeks+3, and I'm finding computers/phones/TV/skypes, and even jigsaws and magazines, give me headaches and makes my nausea loads worse. A shame, given we're in lockdown! And a little depressing as I feel quite cut off from things.

I wondered if I might expect this symptom to ease up after the first trimester.... and also whether anyone found any solution (I'm even wondering about exploring Irlen coloured glasses - a few members of my family use them).

Currently spending my time with audiobooks/podcasts, and sitting in the garden, and gritting my teeth to get through my working at home (computer based)!

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Yes me too unfortunately; however, I do suffer from migraines with nausea and vomiting anyway and (lucky me) I also have Hyperemesis Gravidarum - yay 🤢
If you also suffered from migraines pre pregnancy with vomiting and visual disturbances then you are more at risk for this (as well as being at risk for HG). I find a blue light filter on my phone and laptop helps as long as I haven't let things get too bad before I start using them. Are you finding it difficult to keep food and liquids down?

Me too, I thought it was just coincidence! Not actually being sick, just feel it 99% of the time. Have ordered some bits off amazon to try but probably a waste of money, willing to try anything!

I had this! We got a lovely new tv just before I got pregnant with an amazing picture - I couldn’t watch anything in HD for months it was just too vivid and would make me so nauseous.

I had this at the beginning to a slightly minor level, but mainly with TV. It gave me an awful headache which made me feel worse than I already did. My sickness and the migraines reduced significantly at about 14weeks and then even more so at 18ish weeks. I’m now 23 weeks and feel almost back to normal, just some hip/pelvic pain and lots of waddling. Hopefully yours eases too!
