Sharp shooting pains behind clitorous?

Hi, I'm 40+2 FTM here.

Tonight I've been having some random sharp shooting/stabbing pains very low down mainly in the area of my clitorous, as though it's radiating behind there? I can't explain it much better than that!
It's really quite painful when it happens and makes me jump with shock 😰

Anyone experienced this or know what it is?

I’ve not experienced them OP but at 40+2 I would give labour ward a call to see what they say. It could be the start of labour? Have you lots any waters? Hopefully someone with more experience will be around soon xx

Lost water not lots, sorry!

@amymel2016 thanks for your reply! No i haven't lost any waters yet, same goes for mucus plug - feeling fed up 😞 I've been feeling very mild cramps for a few days but that's about it, no pattern or anything.

The shooting pains don't have a pattern they just seem to suddenly come out of no where and I get a few of them every 30 seconds or so and then they disappear, like now I'm totally back to normal with no pain what so ever.

Hopefully someone can shed some more light also xx

Fingers crossed it’s the start of something! I never lost my mucus plug so don’t worry too much about that. If no one else can offer any help And you’re concerned then call labour ward or your midwife and they will be able to help. Got everything crossed for you! Xx

I've has these loads and I'm only 21 weeks. Went to hospital 2weeks ago because I read that shooting pains can mean your cervix is dilating but they told me everything was fine and that the baby was just probably kicking the nerve that goes to the bit where your wee comes out! Definitely worth giving them a call though. Good luck

Could it be lightning crotch/Fanny daggers? I don't know the actual name, but I had these at the very end of my pregnancy. It was like a shock up my vagina. Could be very uncomfortable.
