19 weeks, period type cramps

Hi
I'm 19 weeks and every single day I have period type cramps. Sometimes just for a few minutes, sometimes longer. I've had them right from the very beginning and at first the midwife just kept saying it was normal and it was just my uterus expanding. But now they're continuing I'm worried something is wrong. My 20 week scan isn't until 27th and I can't get hold of MW.
Does anyone else have these cramps or know what they could mean?

I remember cramps at 18w and made a post about it here. It was just my uterus expanding. I think it's perfectly normal. I was worried at the time and my mw reassured me by checking the babies hb. She was really good like that when ever I was worried she would get me in and check the hb for reassurance because I hadn't felt movements at that point. . 34w now.
If you are worried call the hospital, it could be anything from normal cramps to a urine infection but speaking to a professional with will reassure you.

If the cramping subsides once you've had a pee or a drink of something, it could be a recurring UTI that just reaches the urethra or bladder. I've had a UTI once in my life and I would get a low level ache that felt like period pain that would come and go but seemed to go away for a bit longer if I had pee. It got treated so stopped coming back. It wasn't sore when I pee'd and my urine looked normal so I didn't suspect a UTI. I had the UTI for a few months I would say but just didn't realise as the only symptom was that dull ache that would come and go. Usually when my bladder started to fill, that's when the ache happened. During pregnancy, the bladder is always filling so you can imagine the ache was pretty constant but not severe enough to think it was a UTI

Thanks. I hadn't even considered a UTI! I'll try and see if it coincides with needing a wee. I have suddenly started weeing a lot! Thanks for the advice.

I was in a lot of pain at 18weeks and I think it was because baby was having a growth spurt. I could barely walk (sometimes couldn’t) and it was ooft sore. Have you invested in a pregnancy pillow? Something between your knees when you sleep could help if it’s to do with your uterus expanding? Otherwise like the ladies say could be a UTI. I have had a pain down my knicker line on the left since 18weeks (am now 33) which I’ve put down to just been a bit of weakness there struggling to cope with the weight of the baby.
