Hi everyone, I Am new to Mumsnet, I really needed somewhere to turn and just some advice really.
I found out last week I am pregnant. Today at lunchtime I had some pink spotting when I wiped.
It went away and only came back this evening but much brighter red.

I am cramping slightly too. I did phone 111 because this hasn’t ever happened to me before and I have 2 children already. She sent me to urgent treatment centre.
The doctor said he’s thinking it’s a threatened miscarriage, and I can’t be scanned until Monday.

Has anyone got any positive outcome stories with this kind of thing?

I’m not soaking through pads or anything but it’s definitely bright red blood.

Any help or advice appreciated! Thank you x

Hi there
Sorry you're going through this and I hope you get a positive outcome.
I don't want to get your hopes up but I'm also not trying to prepare you for the worst either, but I bled for 10 days on what I thought was my period, turns out I was 4 weeks pregnant at the time. I raised a concern once it passed 5/6 days of bleeding and had a weird hunch to take a test which was positive. I bled VERY heavy for two of those days (I bled through two tampons within an hour of changing each one), I was sick and had awful cramps/headaches/diarrhoea one particular evening.
Went to my GP on the Monday after taking the test (I was bleeding about 9 days at this stage) and he told me I could be having a very early miscarriage.
I went to my local EPU for a scan a few days later and there was a fetal sac. I'm not 13 weeks pregnant and everything seems ok so far. My midwife said it could have been implantation, or even just bleeding as a fake period which is common, she also said I may have conceived twins but one didn't stick.
My point is, you really won't know what's happening until you get the scan. But try to stay positive and rest up all weekend if you can 💐

I’m having the exact same issues -started 6+3, I’m now 7+1 and it’s still on going but perhaps getting a little better in the past 24h, hard to tell. I have a scan booked on Sunday - privately as EPAU wouldn’t see me.

This is my first pregnancy and I had the same problem I had pinkish spotting that turned more red later in the day and next day was told I was having a threatened miscarriage at 5 weeks as I found out at about 3 and a half weeks I was pregnant and I experienced the same I had horrible cramping pain. But I'm now 26 weeks and 3 days with a very healthy and active little boy who enjoys kicking me through the night. Best advice I can give you is try not to stress your self because it makes everything worse and I hope everything is okay and you get positive news once you get your scan xx

Aww thank you all for your replies. @FarmerWantsABaby great news I’m so glad for you, just praying I have the same outcome. He’s told me to bed rest.
@Emerald89 thinking of you, we’re going to get through this no matter what happens!
@Courtney2020 how amazing is that for you, I really did think yesterday this isn’t good but hearing all your stories is really helping me to stay positive because I guess this could go either way.

I’m still bleeding this morning still red blood, but not heavy. Didn’t bleed anywhere near soaking through a pad all night, just popped in 2 panty liners to monitor it this morning. Going to have a lazy couple of days xx

I too had the same bleeding at 6 weeks with a few cramps. I only bled for 1 day but all my symptoms have disappeared. Doctors and epu wont see me because of the virus. They just told me to re test in a week but I dont have much hope x

Hi! (TMI warning!)

I’m in a similar boat - 6 + 4 today, had red bleeding on Friday and then again on Saturday ( I could feel the liquid as it came out, went to the loo and it was red when I wiped, like as if starting a period but went away after one like blast if that makes sense, like wasn’t continuous. Have had occasional brown-tinted discharge since and am crapping myself as had 2 MMc’s last year, both got to 8 weeks. Currently taking low dose aspirin (private consultant recommended it after #2) so wondering if that’s thinning blood and caused the bleeding, or if this one’s going the same way - I’ve decided I’m not ringing anyone or going for any scans until 10 weeks as saw HB’s last 2 times and don’t wanna see this one to lose it again- don’t wanna get too attached.... Sorry, I don’t have any advice but hope you don’t mind me jumping on to share...

Hope you ladies are all good xx

I’m going through the exact same thing. I started bleeding at 6+3. Just out of no where, bright red blood. Not enough to fill a pad and minimal cramping to basically no cramping. It’s day 5 of bleeding and it’s gotten lighter and mostly just there when I wipe. On Saturday I had small clots. Epu or going won’t see me at all and just advised to return test in 2 weeks. I’ve a private scan tomorrow so hopefully I’ll find out if I’ve mc or ok

TJ88123 · 27/04/2020 22:15

@2020wish : good luck for tomorrow - wishing you all the best & hope all’s positive x
