Worried about movement

I’m 25+1 and only felt my first movement of my baby last Saturday when I was 24+2. I’ve noticed patterns since then, even though the movements can be quite subtle sometimes (anterior placenta). It would normally be early morning and evening with a couple of flutters in the day, but today I haven’t felt anything since this morning.

Should I call a midwife if I don’t feel anything by tomorrow morning? I know they would be more concerned after 28 weeks. I’m so worried all the time especially as my 25 week appointment is cancelled, but I don’t know if I’m overreacting at this stage.

In my area if you have reduced movements over 24 weeks they say to call and let leave it. I'd just give them a call and let them judge whether they need to see you or not. Hope you feel baby soon.

Always call straight away if you're worried about movement. They'd always rather check when it's actually nothing wrong than have you tell them to late to help.

Thank you. I’ll give the triage a call

Just call them asap. With both DS1 and 2 I had reduced movement around the 28 week mark and I just turned up at maternity triage straight away. I was monitored instantly and never once made to feel like I was wasting anyone's time. Both times my boys were fine, just got comfy in an awkward position behind my anterior placentas. You're not wasting time or resources, this is exactly what they're here for and no one in the world would think you're overreacting.

I'm 23+2 with a high anterior placenta and only just started feeling movements this week.
There is definitely no pattern yet. Yesterday I felt her several times throughout the day but today I haven't felt a single thing!
By chance, I've been for a scan today so I know she's fine. She was doing somersaults and kicking like mad but I couldn't feel a thing. The sonographer said at this stage, they've still got plenty of room to move around in there so she must have just moved into a position where I couldn't feel her as much....particularly with having the placenta at the front, cushioning movements any way.
She said I probably wouldn't see a real pattern emerging until about 28 weeks.

@sel2223 Having looked it up I think it’s different if you’re over 24 weeks, and I’m 25+1. She started wriggling loads earlier anyway so I’m very relieved

@Birdy1991 that's great news. My hospital also says 24 weeks so definitely call if you become worried again. I called at 22 weeks and they said to lie on my side for a while and if I didn't feel anything to go in (I did feel movement), so I think it's best to call anytime you're worried.

sel2223 · 18/04/2020 18:22

@Birdy1991 you're a couple of weeks ahead of me which definitely makes a difference. I was just hoping that passing on what I'd been told about 28 weeks, baby position and anterior placenta might help put your mind at rest a bit.
I do think you have to trust your instincts though so best to call if in any doubt. It's far better to be safe than sorry. Pleased she started wriggling about before it came to that though.
