Weight paranoia

Hiya. I'm 12wk with my first and am getting a bit paranoid about my weight....
Pre-pregnancy I was a size 12-14, which I thought was pretty average. I've put on 5lbs since finding out I'm expecting. My BMI categorises me as 'overweight' so it wasn't too unexpected that the midwife told me to watch what I eat however...today I had my dating scan and the sonographer wrote in my notes 'sub-optimal scan due to body habitus'. This essentially translates into I'm too fat!!!! Sad

Didn't want to read and run so virtual hugs to you. I am also struggling with my appetite and trying not to overeat or eat unhealthily. Bit unhelpful of the midwife to say 'watch what you eat' but give you no advice though Hmm I know you can attend Slimming World in pregnancy with your midwife's blessing. Might be worth an ask?

I'm a bit paranoid too. I'm a size 12 (sometimes 14) and I didn't gain anything in the first 20 weeks. Now I'm at a 7lbs gain at week 26 and feeling like a bit of a failure Sad

I feel like because I'm classed as overweight I shouldn't gain more that 15lbs, and I've already gained 7lbs.

I would never purposely diet or eat less whilst pregnant but I wish I could control the weight a bit better.

I'm 21 weeks and I've put on well over a stone. I was beating myself up about it but I've had think and I'm stuck at home isolated and feeling a bit crap and food makes me happy at the minute so that's what I'm gonna do. I will try to reign it in a bit after the weekend but I'm not gonna be too hard on myself under the circumstances
