I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, baby is head down but not fully engaged yet but the midwife says that isn't a worry as baby will engage when labour starts if not before. My due date is next Friday if I haven't given birth by next Friday I'm booked in for a sweep that day, I'm a first time mum.

I've had a few labour symptoms the past week or so, cramps... some days are worse than others, back ache, pelvic pressure, lightening crotch and a few looser stools than normal but nothing leads any further at the minute. I just want her to hurry up and be here now. I wanted to try and avoid sweeps or being induced if possible but want her here at the same time.

Has anybody else had a sweep on their due date and being successful? Or have you had to go on and be induced? X

Hello
I haven't had a sweep but I did have acupuncture on my due date, and that got things started! Gave birth that same night/morning. My hospital offered it for free, perhaps worth asking about..?
