Urgent question- sad :(

Hi all,
I am now having my first pregnancy. It is so far a bumpy ride.
I am supposed to be week 8 according to the last period date.
2 weeks ago I started to have some very mild brown discharge. Went to have a scan where they found a yolk sac alongside the sac.

Then, a few days ago I had a blood discharge. Went back to have a pre scheduled scan, doctor thought he sees some kind of a pole but no heartbeat yet. Asked that I will come back in 2 weeks.

An hour after the scan, I started to have a heavier bleeding with 2 medium plus size clots. Went straight to the ER thinking I am having a miscarriage.

Scan and check showed cervix is closed, sacs are still present.

I now still have some bleeding that remind me of a period but with no actual clots or not in a quantity that is enough to fill a pad.

I am just sitting, waiting and preparing myself for the worse.

Any optimistic stories of women who experienced something similar?

Thanks :(

Hi OP

We're so sorry for what you're going through.

We're giving this a bump for you in the hopes that you'll get some support soon. Flowers

Hi OP, I haven’t experienced this so I don’t have any advice to share. But I am thinking of you Flowers

I had period type bleeding for a week at 5 weeks pregnant, it only stopped when I was put on progesterone. At 8 weeks I bled so much it was running down my legs. I was convinced I‘d lost the baby but she is now 7 months old.

Hoping for the best for you!

Neeentay · 15/04/2020 18:27

Should probably add that my bleeding was caused by a subchorionic haematoma and I had a trouble free pregnancy after the 8 week bleed

When I was 16weeks pregnant I woke up from a nap to a fish of blood. It was all through my clothes and over the bed. Went to the hospital and everything was fine. It happened again with clots about a week later. Still baby was fine. There was no explanation for it and my son has just turned one. I thought I'd share my story because when it was happening to me all I could find were horror stories online. I hope everything turns out well for you OP

Babyshine2020 · 15/04/2020 18:29

I was bleeding from weeks 6-9, clots would come out in the shower or when I went for a wee and there was more blood when I wiped than a period at times (some days weren't too bad), I'm not 24 weeks and baby is kicked the hell out of me so blood doesn't always mean to worse.

It's scary. But it's so so common, I was having a winge to my friends about it as nobody talks about, so al we know is blood means miscarriage, but it really doesn't.

I still have days where I bleed but it teens out I have an anterior placenta which is also placenta previa (blocked my cervix) so I'm more likely to bleed.

If there's a heartbeat, don't give up. Your chances of miscarrying now are so low!

KM2003 · 15/04/2020 18:37

Thank you ladies. I am worried about the fact there wasnt any heartbeat at my last scan.
I read as 8 weeks it already should be detected...Sad

Bleeding is not always a sign of miscarriage. I didn’t bleed at all with my miscarriage but have bled at times with my now 26 week pregnancy.
Fingers crossed for you

MissSmiley · 15/04/2020 18:52

I had very heavy bleeding in a successful pregnancy with no pain but when I had a miscarriage at about 6 weeks there was probably less blood but it was very painful, a cramping type almost mini labour until it was over.
There's not much you can do to change the outcome unfortunately, time will tell, take care of yourself in the meantime x

Mummyoflittledragon · 15/04/2020 18:54

Thinking of you. I hope all will be well. Flowers

MissSmiley · 16/04/2020 17:32

@KM2003 how are you doing today?

KM2003 · 16/04/2020 17:36

Still have bleeding with some clots actually. Waiting for it to happen to be honest.
Not going for another scan until 2 weeks time, letting my body do what it knows.
Hoping next time would be ok.

Thanks for asking ❤

Don't write it off just yet OP, I had my first scan when I should have been 7+5 going by my LMP but baby only measured 6+1. I had a follow up scan 2 weeks later and baby was 8+2 with a lovely strong heartbeat. I'm now 23 weeks.

I didn't have bleeding so not exactly the same but plenty of women do and it turns out ok. I just wanted to let you know that the dates can be out too so don't fixate too much on what you should be seeing at 8 weeks if you know what I mean.

Good luck

Shmabel · 16/04/2020 18:44

How awful for you. I don't have experience I'm afraid but just wanted to echo what PP said about your dates could very easily be out even if you've been like clockwork in the past. The month I got pregnant, I ovulated really late (never happened before ever). I know this for certain because my pregnancy is the result of an IVF natural cycle (so they put 5 day embryo in 5 days after I ovulated naturally).

It's such a crappy wait for you, but the doctors seem to think there's reason to hope. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

KM2003 · 18/04/2020 23:39

Thank you everyone. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage today.
I feel sad and hope it will not affect further attempt ❤
